This notice explains what intellectual property belongs to VoxPolitica, what content comes from parliamentary or other third-party sources, and what users may and may not do with material from the service.
1. VoxPolitica’s own rights
Subject to any third-party rights and statutory exceptions, VoxPolitica owns or controls rights in the service, including, where applicable:
- the VoxPolitica name, branding, design, and presentation;
- site code and software;

- subscriber-only packaging and workflow outputs; and
- VoxPolitica’s own classifications, metadata, and related database rights to the extent recognised by law.
2. Parliamentary and public-source material
VoxPolitica uses parliamentary material and related public-source data. Rights in that material do not automatically belong to VoxPolitica.
Parliamentary material may be available under the Open Parliament Licence or another applicable source licence. Use of such source material remains subject to the applicable source licence terms, including attribution requirements and restrictions on implying endorsement.
3. No claim to the official parliamentary record
VoxPolitica does not claim ownership of the official parliamentary record itself.
VoxPolitica republishes, structures, links, and enriches source material, but the official source remains authoritative.
4. User rights to use exports and outputs
Subject to these notices, the Terms of Use, and any applicable source licence, users may generally use lawful exports and outputs from VoxPolitica for internal research, editorial, professional, and personal purposes.
Users must not:
- present VoxPolitica-only enrichments as official parliamentary material;
- remove required source attribution where it applies;
- imply endorsement by VoxPolitica, Parliament, or another public body;
- resell or republish protected VoxPolitica-only subscriber packaging at scale without permission; or
- use VoxPolitica-only protected classifications, arrangement, packaging, or outputs to create a substitute commercial service without permission.
5. Attribution expectations
Where users reuse parliamentary source material obtained via VoxPolitica, they should ensure they comply with the applicable source licence, including any attribution requirement.
Where practical, users should preserve source context and avoid presenting quotations, metadata, classifications, or extracts in a misleading way.
6. Third-party rights
Some materials accessible through or linked from VoxPolitica may be subject to third-party rights. Users are responsible for ensuring their own reuse complies with any applicable rights and permissions.
