2. What this policy covers

This policy applies to personal data we collect when you:

  • visit the VoxPolitica website;
  • create or use an account;
  • subscribe to a paid plan;
  • use subscriber features such as saved searches, dashboards, and CSV exports;
  • contact us for support, billing, complaints, or legal matters; or
  • interact with our billing and authentication providers in connection with the service.

This policy does not apply to personal data collected directly by third-party services under their own terms and notices, except to the extent we receive that data for our own purposes.

3. The personal data we collect

A. Account and identity data

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

  • your email address;
  • your display name or profile name, if you provide one;
  • your internal user/account identifier;
  • account status and access tier information; and
  • authentication/session information necessary to keep you signed in securely.

B. Subscription and billing data

When you start, manage, or cancel a subscription, we may collect or receive:

  • subscription tier;
  • subscription status;
  • billing period dates;
  • trial status and trial end date, where applicable;
  • whether cancellation at period end has been set;
  • Stripe customer and subscription identifiers;
  • limited billing metadata and event records needed to provision and manage access; and
  • invoice and payment status information.

We do not store your full payment card details. Card payment details are handled by Stripe.

C. Service usage and account-content data

When you use the service, we may store:

  • saved searches;
  • export history and related export metadata;
  • account settings and access-related records;
  • support-side diagnostics related to your account; and
  • records needed to enforce plan entitlements, limits, and anti-abuse controls.

D. Technical, device, and log data

We, our host, and our service providers may process technical data such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser and device information;
  • request logs;
  • timestamps;
  • authentication/security logs; and
  • error and service event logs.

E. Communications data

If you contact us, we may keep:

  • your name;

  • attachments you send us; and

A. Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication/session handling and parts of our hosted application data stack.

B. Stripe

We use Stripe for checkout, recurring billing, billing portal functions, invoices, and payment processing.

C. Hosting, infrastructure, and technical suppliers

We may share data with suppliers that host, secure, monitor, or support the service where necessary for operation and security.

D. Professional advisers and counterparties

We may disclose data to legal, insurance, accounting, payment, or other professional advisers where reasonably necessary.

E. Authorities and legal process

We may disclose data where required by law, court order, lawful regulatory request, or where necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of the service.

We do not sell personal data.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism required by UK data protection law, such as:

  • account and subscription records: retained while the account is active and for a period afterwards where needed for billing, audit, support, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons;
  • saved searches and account-content records: retained while the account remains active, and afterwards only for so long as reasonably needed under our retention and deletion practices;
  • support and complaint correspondence: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the issue and keep an appropriate business record;
  • technical and security logs: retained for operational and security purposes for a limited period unless longer retention is needed for investigation or legal reasons.

Where data is no longer needed, we may delete it, aggregate it, or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • access your personal data;
  • have inaccurate personal data corrected;
  • request deletion of personal data in some circumstances;
  • restrict processing in some circumstances;

10. Automated processing and profiling

VoxPolitica applies automated processing to parliamentary content and platform functionality, but we do not make solely automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you in the ordinary operation of the service.

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site operation and, if introduced, potentially for non-essential purposes subject to consent where required.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction, misuse, and unlawful processing.
